Bobby Jones Links Names Eric Escamilla Vice President of Revenue Management

Golf industry veteran working to impact customer experiences at BJL-managed courses and clubs around the country

ALPHARETTA, GA – Bobby Jones Links (BJL), the golf industry’s leading client-centric, boutique management company, has named Eric Escamilla a Vice President of Revenue Management.

With a diverse background in various industries, including golf, hospitality and education, Escamilla has a Master's degree in Sports Management and Administration from Texas Tech University. Throughout his career, he has excelled in roles such as Regional Director of Membership Sales at Heritage Golf Group and Director of Membership at ClubCorp. His experience in membership marketing and project management has led to significant growth in sales and member retention. That success is largely due to his ability to develop innovative marketing strategies, manage operations effectively and exceed quotas. He has also been with Icon Golf, worked as general manager of a West Texas golf course, and been on the events marketing team at Bridgestone Golf.

“I love the golf business and growing the sport,” says Escamilla, who is based in Myrtle Beach, S.C. “I like to see clubs truly maximize their potential. It is all part of growing the game.”

Escamilla says he enjoys taking on new challenges and traveling to new markets, to completely understand individual situations. “In general, clubs are very unique – every one of them has a different personality and you can't treat them all the same,” he says. “BJL has that quintessential family-type environment.  We have a tailored and targeted approach to each course we manage but we aren't afraid to try new things to help optimize each club’s unique circumstances. Everybody on the BJL team is there to try to be solution oriented. I am really excited to be part of this company, and it really is putting all of my skills and expertise to the test. BJL is very nimble and dynamic. We can fit ourselves into the model of each market that we go into, whether that is in the Midwest, Northeast or Southeast. Our adaptability is very uniquely suited to help each type of owner achieve their goals.”

BJL Founding Partner Steve Willy says Escamilla joins the company at a time of great growth and opportunity. “Eric Escamilla is a welcome and valued addition to the BJL team,” Willy said. “The growing number of clubs and courses in our portfolio will benefit from his seasoned approach and experience in the industry. We are looking forward to seeing Eric implement his skills and helping properties improve their operations and profitability.”

But Escamilla is also quick to point out that before he implements any changes, he likes to “truly understand what the club’s or company's goal is at each club, and also understand the market,” he says. “Then we will complete a competitive market analysis at each property to really drill down. I don’t like to salt the steak before tasting it. Each ownership group has a general idea of what they want to accomplish. They have had past experiences and different ideas on what's going to be successful. Being able to explain to all stakeholders that our operational expertise will produce results can sometimes be a challenge, but one that I am definitely looking forward to with BJL.”
