With the Atlanta Braves starting up their season at Truist Park this month, there's excitement (and the smell of peanuts and crackerjacks) in the air in Atlanta. The team at Legacy Golf Links and Fox Creek Golf Club in Smyrna, Georgia wanted to showcase some of the great offerings around Truist Park and in the city that locals and out-of-state visitors alike can enjoy alongside a game. From a visit to the aquarium to a round of golf, check out the can't-miss attractions in the area below.
In the City:
Looking to spend some time in the city? Atlanta has no shortage of things to do for those who want to venture out a bit before the big game. Families and sea-life lovers alike will enjoy the Georgia Aquarium, only 10 miles from Truist Park and home to hundreds of species of wildlife. If history is more your speed, check out the National Center for Civil and Human Rights or the Atlanta History Center. Both are within a 20-minute drive from the stadium. For the football lovers in the area, we also suggest a visit to the College Football Hall of Fame. While Braves season is all about baseball, nothing says you can’t check out two sports in one trip! If you need to stretch your legs a little after a long drive into the area, Centennial Olympic Park and Piedmont Park both offer walking trails and lots of room to wander around and get some sunshine.
In need of a place to eat that also doubles as an attraction? Check out the food halls at Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market. Both feature international cuisine, cocktail bars, and plenty of places to indulge your sweet tooth – perfect for fueling up before the big game.
Near the Park:
There's also plenty to experience right around Truist Park, starting with the stadium itself. MLB.com has helpfully put together a list of all the things you can do to make the most of your time at Truist Park while you're there for a game, including tailgating with friends and stopping by Battery Atlanta for great food, fun and live music. Looking for another place to grab a bite in the area? Check out Tacos La Villa or Heirloom Market BBQ for big flavor at family-friendly prices.
In our opinion, the best thing to do before or after enjoying an exciting Braves game is to pay a visit to Fox Creek Golf Club and Legacy Golf Links. Just off I-75 on Windy Hill Road and a few long par 5s from the Atlanta Braves stadium, Fox Creek Golf Club and Legacy Golf Links are two of the nation’s best driving range and golf destinations, recognized nationally as a Top 50 Public Driving Range Facility by Golf Range Association of America. Don’t have time to play 18? We have something for you, too! The combined 100 grass tee range always has quality range balls in great condition and is partially lit for nighttime enjoyment. Legacy and Fox Creek are approachable and affordable, so they're a great option for both experienced golfers and those new to the sport.
There's certainly no lack of things to do and places to eat while you’re supporting your favorite Atlanta team! When you’re ready, book your tee time at https://www.legacyfoxcreek.com/ and come visit us before or after a game. Go Braves!
